In attempt to catch myself up from my computer chaos, I am mixing it up and putting tidbits from the last month and a half. It’s like a little bullet point list in pictures and opinions.
On October 9th we took the girls to Eckerts for apple picking fun.
On October 15th Trent and I were supposed to go to a wedding of one of my sorority sisters. My parents were going to take the girls for an overnight, but my mom was sick. Trent said he’d stay home with the girls and I took Bethanie as my date. Dennis drove all us crazy ladies.
We decided we looked like an episode of “Big Love.”
The girls were excited to have a night with their dad.
On October 16th, we had Kinsley over for a playdate of pumpkin carving, girly fun, and dinner.
A pumpkin for Lauren, Kinsley, and Sydney.
October 17th I made a recipe in my binder that I refer to every couple of months. It’s so yummy and easy.
Sesame Soy Meatballs from Cooking Light
So for Sydney’s 4th birthday we are having her party at Fitz’s root beer restaurant. Our idea was an afternoon party with ice cream treats and floats for the kids. I could not find an invite I liked. So I came up with the idea of taking Sydney to Dr. Jazz in Webster Groves and take a picture of her at an old school soda shop with a parfait.
Like this.
Or this.
I was happy. I got a picture that would work. Then Sydney started eating the parfait….
This girl ain’t playin.
And the birthday invite took a different spin. More of a girl meets parfait and becomes a big hot mess spin. Definitely more Sydney style.
October 22nd Lauren was the goalie at her soccer game.
That night we took the girls to the Zoo to look at the Halloween decorations and have animal encounter fun.
Ben decided to join us too, so the girls also had some cousin fun.
October 27th was Sydney’s Halloween party. Trent’s mom was with us for the week and got to join in the fun too.
Successful 3 year old party.
That afternoon Kirk drove to St. Louis and joined in the household madness. I made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, gravy, and bread.
Probably should have put it on a pretty platter before it’s close-up. Our baking sheets are really showing their age.
October 29th Kirk and Sally hosted a dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory for us, my parents, and Grandpa Coco.
I really treasure the pictures of I have of the girls with all their grandparents.
October 30th was Ghouls in the Garden at the Botanical Garden. I used the opportunity to take their picture for the 2011 Halloween picture. This year I had my frame already bought. I’m on it. So on it that I took all the pictures vertically and it was a frame for a horizontal picture….
All the little ghouls!
And that was the rest of October! Bring on Halloween!
