We are spending the weekend at a Lake house in Saint Genevieve with my parents. The kids have a great time spending the morning and afternoon at the pool.
The kids get all the grandparent perks complete with TV in the morning, unlimited chocolate milk, sleeping in a sleeping bag (they deem this very fancy), and book readings upon request. They are in lake house heaven. Trent and I decided to take advantage of the adult/kid ratio and go out to dinner and celebrate our anniversary.
We went to Tiger Ridge Restaurant, which is a newer restaurant that uses local ingredients and vendors for their dishes.
Glass of wine at the bar before our table was ready. Love it!
We split the:
Antipasto Platter for Two
red wine bison sausage, cheddar bison sausage, proscuitto
ham, stilton blue, Old Amsterdam aged gouda, the Drunken
Goat from Spain, maple smoked white cheddar, Parmigiano
Reggiano, pecorino, cherry peppers, pepperoncini, green and
kalamata olives, served with roasted garlic crustini
After that we were full, but not too full to skip dessert. That’s just craziness. We split the chocolate molten cake complete with ice cream and a cookie in the shape of a crown. We saved the cookie and asked for another one to bring back to the girls. They loved it!
