December 28th, 2010

For dinner sometime in the next week or so, I am going to make a meal using (but not limited to) the first 7 ingredients that show up as comments on the blog.  So if you’d like to participate, just leave an ingredient as a comment and if it’s one of the first 7, then it’ll be in the meal in some form!  I’m just hoping, for my family who has to eat it sake, you go a little easy on me.  We shall see and hopefully I’m not posting a recipe for something that looks like this.

Thanks for playing!!!

The persons that said "pepeadews" needs a psychologist and lots of help. Not sure about "fresh ginger" and/ or "grapefruit". My ingredient is any cheese.
This is DAD.

I had to look up what a peppadew was since it was my brother that posted it and it actually sounds doable. I'm pretty sure cheese is a given in ANY meal (right? please?) FYI:
The flavour of the Peppadew fruit is sweet, with just a touch of heat (around 1,177 on the Scoville scale[1]). It goes well stuffed with soft cheeses, such as cream cheese, sheep, goat, or buffalo cheeses ( i.e. feta or mozzarella), and they can be bought already stuffed with cheese. Peppadews can be added to many dishes such as kebabs, salads, pizza, omelettes and sandwiches.

I gotta say - dinner last night was fantastic!! Way to pull together all the random ingredients!

So it was a total home run! I had mine as leftovers since I was home sick :( The wasabi mashed potatoes were perfect. I'm not a fan of wasabi in general, but this was a subtle hint of kick that made them perfect.

The steak was tender, perfectly seasoned. I also greatly enjoyed the yummy zuchini cakes with the fun remmoulade. I assume that was peppadew and i liked it--had a real kick.

Everything turned out incredible and i'm, as always, beyond impressed with jenny's talents!

Yay!
