The day began with brunch at Salt restaurant in the CWE with Erin, Ryan, and Kevin. It was a limited menu, but everything was delicious. I even had a glass of champagne, so I called it my boozy brunch.
Said champagne.
Erin and Ryan got meatballs and french toast. The meatballs came in this cute little pig bowl.
Salt’s spin on an eggs benedict. It was a biscuit topped with a ham salad topped with a poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce. Decadent and delicious.
That night was the big party at Pat and Carol’s to celebrate the 4th of July with family and a fireworks display at Algonquin country club.
I made little firefly catchers for the kids with their initials on them.
Ben’s Aunt Arlene makes the fanciest and most delicious cookies.
It started raining and the fireworks display was canceled 10 minutes before it was supposed to start. So we improvised and did a homegrown block firework “display.” It was great evening.
