May 28th, 2010

Growing up one of my dad’s favorite vegetables was brussel sprouts.  I always liked them too, to me they taste like little cabbages.  Trent warmed up to them in the last couple of years when I made them with bacon or prosciutto bits. 

On Sunday afternoons if all our to do list is done, Trent and I will watch episodes we taped on the Food Network with Lauren.  It’s a good compromise because it’s G rated, but has more interest to me than Sesame Street (no offense, Elmo).  Mostly we either watch Ina or Giada.  The last time we were watching Giada she made a brussel sprout salad that looked awesome.  I printed off  her recipe and made it for dinner with garlic bread.  But to make sure Trent liked it, I added prosciutto bits (and it worked).
